Hotel Wanderlust: The James Royal Palm

Happy Friday!
Time to get whisked away and hang out at the pool at the James Royal Palm in South Beach/Miami.  Couldn’t you just picture yourself in one of those lounge chairs?  I know I could, but I’m gonna have to wait because this little gem isn’t opening until October 2012.   In the meantime, just dream about this weeks Hotel Wanderlust.

Forbes Magazine featured the The James Royal Palm as one of…

Encouragement: 20 Seconds

Have you ever been scared to do something?  I know I have.  Sometimes fear can be paralizing.  This quote is so true – just 20 seconds of insane courage can change your world.
Are you afraid to do something? Close your eyes and just GO!  Your heart will be beating so fast that you’ll think it could literally pop out of your chest…but 20 seconds later, all done and you’ill feel so much…

Color Crush: 4th of July

Stars, Stripes and the 4th of July!  I can’t believe the 4th is right around the corner…next week around the corner.  Any fun plans?  Picnic, beach, bbq, fireworks?
I have to say, it kinda stinks that it’s on a Wednesday this year.  But I have no doubt fun will be had.  We’re going to be heading to our towns annual 4th of July parade.  It’s crazy how many people come to our…

Events: Let’s Set the Table

One of my favorite things to do at events is set the table.  I mean really set the table.  Gorgeous flowers, fancy napkins, candles some out of this world china and of course that little unexpected surprise.  If it’s a small dinner party for 6 or a gala dinner for 1000, you can get so creative setting a table.  Here is a little inspiration and I have a feeling you will be able to figure out my…

Happy Monday.  Thought I would start your week off with something you might want to make this weekend.  See – I’m thinking ahead for you.
It’s grilling time!!  Summer makes me want to fire up the grill, eat outside and have some frozen treats.  These recipes make me want to plan a little summer get together.  Don’t you think?

Hotel Wanderlust: Ponta dos Ganchos Resort

I’m starting a new series – Hotel Wanderlust.  Each post will showcase a new hotel discovery and after seeing them, you just might want to pack your bags and escape.  First up is Ponta dos Ganchos Resort in Brazil.  I’ve never been to Brazil, but have heard their beaches are unbelievable – it’s definitely on my bucket list of places I’d like to go.
The hotel is located 25 miles from the state…

Now this is truly a full-contact approach to event planning.  So creative, innovative and inspiring.  The details are over the top and unexpected.  A true experience was created.  I’m always looking for something that gets my heart racing and creative juices flowing and wowzers – this did.  Great job Four Seasons Scottsdale.  I mean – the wellness breakfast?  Really?  You guys…

Encouragement: How Do You Want to Feel?

Have you heard the saying, “when the student is ready, the teacher will appear?”  I guess I’m ready, because I’m reading a great book right now and it’s really hitting home with me.  It’s called The Fire Starter Sessions: A Soulful + Practical Guide to Creating Success on Your Own Terms by Danielle LaPorte.  I’m about a 1/3rd through the book and one chapter has really stopped and made me…

Events: Rooftop Decks

With summer upon us and the weather as gorgeous as ever – rooftop decks are more popular than ever.  Especially for events.  We just worked on an event for a client in Chicago and lucky for us – the restaurant had one of the most popular rooftop decks in the city.  We had indoor/outdoor space, but the majority of the guests were gathered outside, soaking in the rays and enjoying the mojitos.
Here is a…
