Life: 2015 New Year Words

Happy New Year! 2014 was a great year and we were able to create some wonderful events and we have no doubt that 2015 is going to be even better. This year, I came up with New Year words that are close to my heart and that I’m going to live by.

Our first word is MAKE.

I spotted this photo on @alexandra003 instagram feed and thought it was perfect for this word. Being in the creative field we are constantly “making” things with deadlines attached, however this year the focus is going to be on playing with new mediums and getting our hands dirty. We’re going to create for the sake of creating, enjoy the process and have fun vs. thinking about deadlines and emails. Can any of you relate to this?

Our second word is ADVENTURE.

I found this photo on @fluttermag instagram feed and it was a photo by KT Merry.  I was fortunate enough to meet KT at the Oh So Inspired retreat and she is an adventurer, unbelievable photographer and one of the most genuine people I know.

We went on a lot of adventures in 2014, but not nearly enough. This year we are going to do more exploring when we head out to new places, venues and destinations. This means spending an extra day, getting to know the culture a little bit more and being a local vs. being a tourist.

The third word is BOUNDARIES.

This photo was taken by me last week. It’s my dad and I holding hands. To me, this picture is everything. It’s stillness, it’s family, it’s putting what’s important first. Email can wait, social media can wait.  Moments can’t.

The final word is PURPOSEFUL.

I saw this picture on @thimblepress instagram feed and fell in love with this quote. It had the word “purpose” written all over it. We’re going to do what we love and do it well, with lots of heart and inspiration.

So these are our New Year words: MAKE, ADVENTURE, BOUNDARIES and PURPOSEFUL.

I can’t wait to see what 2015 brings. Do you have any New Year words picked out?
