Color Crush

This infamous pattern may just be one of the most recognizable wallpapers in the world….

“The Original” Martinique Banana Leaf wallpaper, which was created by decorator Don Loper in 1942 for the historic Beverly Hills Hotel, has since developed an iconic status amongst the design world.

Now that summer is officially here, we’re loving this classic print trend and it’s catching our eye…

Color Crush: A Pop of Red

Wow it’s been a long time since I’ve done a color crush.  I’m thinking of bringing it back, have you missed it?

I’ve been spotting pops of red lately and I’m loving it.  It’s such a strong color and when it’s all alone is a see of pastels, it’s so dramatic and cheerful at the same time.  Don’t you think?

Color Crush: Colorful Buildings

As soon as I saw these bright colored buildings, I could feel a color crush coming on.  It’s been really busy with events lately and I haven’t done a color crush for a few weeks.  So I hope all this vibrant color makes up for it.  Don’t you think it would be fun to live in one of these buildings?

I have to say, it kinda stinks that it’s on a Wednesday this year.  But I have no doubt fun will be had.  We’re going to be heading to our towns annual 4th of July parade.  It’s crazy how many people come to our…

Color Crush:: Lavender

The soft, sweet shade of lavender is this weeks color crush.  I personally love lavender with a punch of a bright color, I think it makes such a statement.  But these soft shades of pastel just have me smitten.  It all looks so calming, except for the last picture which just looks like a really fun party.

Color Crush:: The Peony

I had planned to do the typical color crush that I do every Wednesday, and then something facinating happened.
My sister and I bought my mom some peonies (from Safeway) to brighten up her day while she was in the hospital.  They were the most beautiful hot pink color with a bright yellow center.  These flowers were so gorgeous they catched everyone’s attention.  Some thought there was no way they were…

Color Crush:: Blush

Blush is such a soft and sweet color.  It’s not quite pink or peach or beige, it’s blush.  A mixture of retro, soft hues, desserts, glamour and the cutest dog I’ve ever seen (other than mine of course).

Color Crush:: Nautical Navy

I absolutely love blue…and navy in particular.  Don’t you just want to sail away?  Summer is coming and that means we’re going to get lots of time on the boat and soaking up the sun.
I love wearing navy.  In some instances, I think it’s the new black.  I was going through my closet and if you can believe it, I actually have more navy pieces than black.  Shocking I know.
Add some pops of…
