Bottoms Up: Citron Refresher

This is a dangerously good drink.  It’s so tasty and refreshing that it’s hard to stop at one.  The Citron Refresher would be a great addition to any summer fête.  You might ask – is it hard to make…nope, it’s so easy.

Absolute Citron – 1.5 oz
Equal parts of lemonade and cranberry juice
A little splash of club soda
And for those you are looking for a non-alcoholic version, lemonade and cranberry with a…

V. Sattui Winery & Blueprint Studios

A couple of weeks ago I headed up to the Napa Valley to an event at V. Sattui Winery.  The last time I was here was a very long time ago, for one of my dear friends wedding.  It poured rain that day (it hadn’t rained on that day in 99 years).  So to say that I really didn’t get to see the winery in all it’s glory was an understatement.
After wandering around the property, I can see why she wanted to…

Room 101: Ivy Hotel Chicago

It’s been a whirlwind week and oh my word, I’ve stumbled upon the most awesome hotel in Chicago.  The Ivy Hotel in Chicago is my new favorite.  If you follow me on instagram – you would have already seen a sneak peak.

The staff members are so friendly and I’m in love with the contemporary warm vibe.  Located on E. Ontario just a couple of blocks off Michigan Avenue; shopping – no problem; dining – no…

Gift Box: A Thank You

We just finished up an amazing event and I love to close out the event with a thank you.  This time around, I had custom cookies made by my go-to baker here in Danville, Junebug Bakery.  I wanted the cookies to match our brand style and colors.
To build the package, we started with a small white shipping box and used one of our custom ROAR stamps to showcase our branding on the outside of the box…

Wood Pallets & Kinfolk

I love Kinfolk Magazine.  Have you ever flipped through the pages?  I came across this photo online this morning and loved the simplicity.  I’m a huge fan of wooden pallets.  It brings in that organic, earthy feel into events.  To me – they immediately set the tone.

Kinfolk does these community gatherings and other events all over the world.  This one in particular was hosted in Los…

Not Your Everyday Lunch

I just came across this photo on Pinterest and of course pinned it.

And then I went to the original website of the photographer (Eric Kelley Photography) that took the photo and was just dying over the photography.
I’m in LOVE with the hand lettering on the picnic box.  I mean – how fun is that?  What an unexpected surprise that all of your guests would notice.  (Note to self: I MUST do…

Winter Flowers from the Wild Side

I can’t believe it’s been a month since I’ve posted anything on the blog.  It’s scary how time flies.  We’ve been so busy here at ROAR with tons of events.  We have 3 more happening in 2012 and then we can take a little break and enjoy the holiday season.
Florals are one of my favorite elements to add to events.  Lately, I’ve been drawn to rich jewel tones and moody flowers.  But I’m shying…

Event lighting is so important.  It sets the tone if your indoors or outdoors.  I just came across this lighting company – Space Lighting and I’m loving all their lighted fixtures.  They can be used as décor, seating and cocktail rounds.  Form and function = awesome.

Events: Simple Flower Arrangements

How many of you are familiar with Joyus?  It’s a shopping website, but they have some really great videos about styling.  I came across this one about simple flower arrangements that anyone can do.

Events: Would You Like Some Flowers

A few years back, I was attending an event in the city at the Four Seasons San Francisco.  It was actually a Four Seasons event for event planners to showcase their properties from all over the world.  You know someone made an impact when you still remember it – right?
At the end of the evening, all the guests were able to make a bouquet of flowers and bring them home.  It was such a lovely…
