Apologies for being MIA. I thought I would give you a peek into my reality. We’re in major event crunch mode for an event happening in 25 days. 700 attendees will be gathering at the San Francisco Marriott and we’re knee deep in menu planning, signage design, rooming lists, staging, gift buying and then assembling.
Isn’t this desk wonderful? So clean. Well that’s not my reality. I wish my desk looked like that when I was in crunch mode. Ah, all that white with a splash of inspiration.
Here is my reality right now (no styling necessary – ha!). I do have some fresh flowers to look at which is a good thing. I also bought myself a Fitbit Flex because one problem when your in event crunch mode is sitting at your desk or in the car heading to meetings. There isn’t too much movement happening so I’m hoping this will get my booty up more.
I’m also scheduling myself sometime outside. That’s right – you heard correctly, I’m scheduling. If I don’t book it in my calendar, it won’t happen. Then I’m frustrated. It’s been gorgeous weather (sorry East Coast) and I’m going to soak up some sun – even if it’s just for 30 minutes.
We went to Costco over the weekend and I think they must have thought we were crazy when we purchased 700 mini altoids, kind bars, and chapstick. (Remember everything you do doesn’t need to be branded.) We’re giving these away in the attendee welcome bags and in the hangover kits they will get after the party.
Well – I need to get back at it – my to-do list is screaming my name and I have my walk in 30 minutes.
Gotta run…Happy Hump Day!
