Marketing your event planning business isn’t the during different economies. What you do when the economy is booming is different when we’re in a recession, different if a natural disaster happens and different during COVID-19. And guess what? It’s going to be different when we come out on the other side of COVID-19.
Be sure to sign up for our free class on Wednesday, April 15 at 11am PST, but in the meantime here are 5 Tips for Marketing Your Event Planning Business during any Season:
Tip#1
What is your social media saying about your business? You don’t want to confuse your audience. If you’re a wedding planner and started producing corporate events, your Instagram feed shouldn’t be filled with beautiful wedding pictures. There needs to be balance. This same strategy applies if you are a venue owner, caterer, entertainer.
Tip #2
Know your niche and who you are trying to attract. Niching down doesn’t mean that you are losing potential business. Niching down means that you are finding the ideal client that you will serve.
Tip #3
Now is not the time to be silent. Your customers and clients need to hear from you. You’re the guide/leader and you need to have a combination of empathy and authority. When things get nutty out there, they need to know that you are there for them.
Tip #4
Don’t sit back and think that your product or service offerings are fine. Now is the time to get creative on the services that you offer. During a recession, money is tight and clients want to know that they are getting a good deal. How can you create an amazing offer for them without lowering your price? It’s time to think out of the box.
Tip #5
You need to be agile and have the ability to change and be flexible. Just because you’ve done something one way for a long time doesn’t mean that you keep doing the same thing over and over again.
