We drove up to Meadowood Napa Valley for a mid-week site visit and it didn’t disappoint. If you follow us on Instagram (you really should), you would have already seen a few pictures. It’s been several years since I’ve seen the property. It’s hard to believe that it’s 50 years young.
Meadowood is perfect for an executive meeting, customer appreciation, sales incentive, or destination wedding, with 99 sleeping rooms and 3 meeting rooms. There are so many things to do on the 250 acre property – you don’t even have to leave. There is a 9-hole golf course, croquet, hiking, tennis, swimming, spa (by the way, they are building a brand new spa that is opening in the Fall), you name it.
The image below is the iconic Meadowood – it’s their croquet lawn. You are required to wear all white and having a crafted cocktail is a must (in our opinion). We are already envisioning a fun event on the lawn that would consist of a bow-tie bar for the gentlemen and a pashmina bar for the ladies. That would be a fun ice breaker – don’t you think?
Below is their standard room. Not too shabby!
From a culinary standpoint, they focus on farm to table. They offer 3 different dining experiences from The Restaurant (3 star Michelin rated), The Grill and the Pool Cafe. We ate at The Grill for breakfast and dinner. I would highly recommend the English Pea Salad and the Pesto Pappardelle. So good! For breakfast, they offer fresh pressed juices. They also have a 7 acre garden where they grow their own veggies. You know everything is fresh.
If you do decide to head off property, the hotel offers complimentary car service to near by Calistoga, Yountville and St. Helena.
Below is one of their outdoor lawns just outside the meeting space. Perfect for cocktails, lunch, dinner or weddings. It’s already equipped with market lights to create a warm ambiance.
If golf is your thing, there is a 9-hole walking course and they also have a driving range that is so high-tech (TrackMan Technology) that it can measure just about anything.
To me, there is something about waking up with trees surrounding you and enjoying a cup of Illy coffee. It’s so relaxing. It was an incredible stay – I wish we could have stayed longer. It’s a good thing the hotel is only about 90 minutes from our office in the San Francisco Bay Area because we will be back.
Who’s ready to plan a destination meeting? I know we are.
On a side note – we’ve been thinking about doing some live site visits on Periscope (username: @roarevents). Would you all like that?
