A couple of weeks ago, me and my little family actually went on a vacation. I real vacation. No conference calls were scheduled or no checking email. It was glorious.
Being in the event business, definitely has it’s perks. We get upgraded when rooms are available and we get lovely amenities sent to our room. It’s pretty awesome and am really grateful to be able to do what I love. We stayed at the Hyatt Huntington Beach and my hotel sales partner hooked us up. We had a great room with a lovely view and they sent one of the most unique amenities I’ve seen in a LONG time.
Most amenities are cheese, a bowl of fruit, a bottle of wine, or chocolate covered strawberries. Now please don’t get me wrong – this is very nice of hotel to do. But when a hotel puts serious thought into their amenities and are over the top with presentation – doesn’t it make you think that the event that you would have at this hotel would be pretty top notch as well? I know I would.
Let me breakdown this amenity for you. Salad for 2 in mason jars with dressing in darling mini bottles. Grilled peaches in an iron skillet (it really was a heavy iron skillet). Yogurt in another small super cute mason jar. All of which was presented on this amazing wooden cutting board that I wanted to some how pack in my suitcase because it was just awesome. And a bottle of wine.
This was over the top in the uniqueness factor and it tasted really great.
