The Lab Event through my iPhone

Wednesday, March 5, 2014

A couple of weeks ago I went to the Lab Event. It’s a wedding industry event here in the bay area. You might wonder – why is an event planner who normally focuses on corporate events and corporate social events attending a wedding event. Well, weddings inspire me and I love coming up with ways to “corporatize” and enhance the ideas for my market.

The event took place at the historic San Francisco Ferry Building. Paula le Duc catered the féte with some delicious bites. Below are some of the details that got me excited and imagination running wild.

I love the calligraphy created on the Lab Event sign. And a little side note, I used this calligrapher to create some gift tags for a recent incentive we produced.

Lab-Event-Welcome

These welcome and thank you gifts translates so easily to corporate events.

This menu and these flowers I just adore. Perfect for a summer dinner party. (Side note: the menus are from Minted.com and were part of ROAR loves last week.)

Lab-Event-Shelter-Co

I’m dying to use one of Shelter Co’s tents for a corporate retreat. They would make pretty fab and unconventional breakout space. It would also be great for any outdoor party.  Mark my words – they will be at an event we produce.

Lab-Event-Chandelier

This floral chandelier was inside Shelter Co’s tent. Such a unique way to showcase flowers without taking up table space.

Lab-Event-Bottle

Loved the rustic and elegant feel of this table. The bottle place cards were unexpected.

Lab-Event-Cooper

One of my favorite tabletop designs. This would be beautiful for lunch or dinner.  The simplicity of the plates to the kumquat garnish and those amazing letterpress round menus are just to die for.

Lab-Event-Modern-Whimsy

I thought this tabletop was just plain fun!

I’m really glad that I went to the event. I gained some wonderful ideas, saw industry friends and tasted some wonderful food.
