I’m super excited to have Erin Hiemstra of Apartment 34 here today chatting about where she would go on her dreamy vacation and what essentials she would have to bring with her.
I first met Erin at the ALT summit where she was leading a roundtable about social media. Loved her then, love her now. Savvy – oh yes. Social Media Maven – you betcha. Stylist extraordinare (head over to Joyus where you can see her in action). By the way Erin – you need to come to my closet because this girl could use your help!
Man of man – I think my carry-on bag collection is going to be growing yet again. Erin’s bag is the bomb.
You’re headed on vacation – where would you want to go?
I constantly dream of trips to Italy. I know there are thousands of amazing places in the world, but after living there in college, it’s my happy place. The food, the scenery, the find, the food! My dream is to rent a little Tuscan villa next year and spend a month taking day trips to all the little villages we’d never otherwise discover.
What carry-on bag would you bring?
I love a good sturdy tote bag that can hold a heck of a lot. I’ve long been a fan of Clare Vivier bags – beautifully made and produced right in LA. Her Tropezienne tote has long been on my bag wish list and I think it would be perfect for a dream vacation. It would double as a lovely day-time purse upon my arrival!
What would be the 5 things that you would have to have?
There are clear essentials on my travel must-have list. They include: A cute scarf and good lotion are needed to fend off nasty plane air and the scarf can double as an accessory upon arrival. Bonus. The iPhone is now a required travel companion, from music to maps to Instagram, it is always at hand. I’m very into statement sunnies at the moment and would love to sport a peach pair on the streets of Florence. Finally, I like to wear a watch when I travel. It serves as a great piece of jewelry and helps you get over jetlag!
